Imagine my excitement when I was invited to capture a beautiful Cornish festival wedding! Thai and Josh’s big day was an absolute blast and a true celebration to remember. While every wedding I photograph has its own unique charm, this one was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.
Woodland Valley
The wedding took place at the breathtaking Woodland Valley Organic Farm, nestled in the heart of the Cornish countryside near Laddock. This isn’t just any farm—it’s a fully organic, working farm surrounded by stunning natural beauty.
In addition to being a working farm, Woodland Valley also offers a fantastic events venue. Their Green Wedding packages are perfect for couples like Thai and Josh who wish to feel close to nature for their special day. They also use local produces for the catering and have a mirco brewery on site, perfect for your own personal blend.
Their ceremony was held in a magical glen within a nearby woodland, creating the perfect backdrop for such a special occasion. However, Woodland Valley also offer a range of converted buildings like The Granary or The Roundhouse in which ceremonies can take place.
Beautiful Cornish Festival Wedding Weather!
Thai and Josh tied the knot in early September, right after a scorching summer had given way to bursts of heavy rain. I fully expected to see the bride in wellies! However, to my surprise, the sun decided to join us. The day was bright and beautiful, with hardly any mud in sight! Thankfully, Thai didn’t become the first bride I photographed in wellies—but that has happened since!
A Magical Ceremony
The day started off with a buzz of excitement. Thai made her way along a lantern-lit woodland trail towards the timber-framed ceremony space, where Josh waited in anticipation. With nearly two hundred guests in attendance, this woodland ceremony was something truly special. The early 11:00 AM start didn’t stop the magic. Even the guests sat on hay bales as they watched Thai and Josh exchange their vows in this enchanting setting.
A Photographer’s Dream
I loved photographing this wedding, what a dream come true for me. The relaxed and natural vibe of the day perfectly matched my style of wedding photography. I had so much fun capturing candid moments, intimate couple shots, and, of course, the classic group photos with family and friends.
What an original day, filled with live music from an array of talented bands. Likewise guests enjoyed a mouth-watering selection of street food from around the world. With energy high the celebrations continued long into the night.
