Saturday the 26th March was a beautiful Spring day, one of the best days of the year, with bright sunshine and summer temperatures. It was also the date that Kimberley and Matt got married at Nonsuch Mansion in Surrey. As a Hertfordshire based wedding photographer this was new territory for me, but I always find shooting at new venues exciting. Having met with Kim and Matt at NonSuch a few weeks before, I had already found some lovely locations for group and couple photographs in the magnificent grounds of this historic venue.
I always feel privileged to be a wedding photographer. It’s a feeling that’s hard to describe, but I find the happiness and electricity of a wedding very infectious and Kim and Matt had bucketful’s of both. I arrived at Nonsuch early in the morning, along with Kim and her sister / bridesmaid, to capture Kim getting ready.
The ceremony was at 2pm, so this was a perfect start to the day. Getting there early enough to shoot Kim’s progress throughout the morning as she went from hair stylist to make-up artist also meant I had enough time to wander around the venue taking pictures inside and out. I was also on hand when Kim and her dad saw each other for the first time. This was a very special moment.
My second photographer photographed Matt and his best man as they arrived, nervous, excited and buzzing with energy, along with Kim and Matt’s guests as they relaxed in the sun-drenched gardens, before drifting into the wonderfully decorated ceremony room. We were all waiting nervously for 2pm to arrive, the chatting and laughing becoming more subdued the closer we got, and then the room fell silent when Kim appeared with her dad. Matt was transformed when he saw his beautiful bride for the first time.
This was the beginning of truly wonderful day – a beautiful, relaxed and emotional ceremony followed by a sumptuous wedding breakfast, heartfelt speeches and a passionate first dance. Kim and Matt, along with their family and friends were all genuinely lovely people. It was a pleasure to photograph them and to be able to give Kim and Matt a photographic story of their very special wedding day. Wedding photography should always be relaxed and fun – this bring out the best in everyone. You can read more about working with me here: https://timpaynephotography.com/experience/.
