Wedding Day Photography

Frequently Asked Questions

When it comes to wedding day photography, I want everything to feel simple, relaxed, and completely tailored to you. Below you will find answers to the questions I’m most often asked. If you still have a question that is not covered here, please do not hesitate to contact me. I’m here to help.

What is your approach to Wedding Day Photography?

My approach to wedding day photography is all about telling your story naturally. I blend documentary-style photography with a touch of gentle guidance when needed. I want everyone to feel comfortable, natural, and not forced.

I love capturing the real moments, the laughter, the nerves, the hugs, the love, and the dance-floor chaos!

How much experience do you have as a wedding photographer?

I have been privileged to photograph countless weddings. I love how photography has evolved, from formal to documentary styles. When I first started photographing weddings, I mainly used a 35mm camera. The introduction of digital was a game-changer, providing me with the opportunity to capture every moment. Now, 35mm is back, as an addition to the digital photographs, and I’m thrilled that I can offer my couples a combination of the two styles, from fine art to nostalgic.

Will you help us feel comfortable in front of the camera?

Absolutely! Most couples believe they are not great in front of a camera; that’s completely normal. My wedding day photography style is low-pressure and natural. I offer gentle guidance when needed, but mostly I let things unfold so you can relax and be yourselves. After all, this is your special day. Before long, you’ll forget the camera is even there.

What parts of the wedding day do you capture?

That honestly depends on the wedding day package you select and your personal vision. From my Micro Wedding Story package (3 hours of photography) to the Extended Wedding story, there are options to suit all budgets.

Key moments include:

  • Getting ready
  • Ceremony
  • Confetti and candid moments
  • Group photos (if you’d like them)
  • Couple portraits
  • Speeches and first dance
  • Cutting the cake
  • Evening celebrations

Every wedding is different, so I’ll always tailor coverage to what matters most within the time frame of your chosen wedding day package.

Do we need to pose for lots of photos?

No, not at all.

I specialise in candid, natural moments that tell the true story of your wedding, as well as any formal group shots you may want to include. You’ll also receive a great variety of couple portraits throughout the day and evening, plus plenty of informal guest shots to truly capture the atmosphere.

Please visit my gallery here for more details.

How many photos will we receive?

Naturally, it depends on your chosen package, but you’ll receive a collection of carefully edited high-resolution images that truly tell the story of your wedding day. As a general guide, if you booked me for a full day, including getting-ready shots, I would expect to deliver a minimum of 650 images (often more).

How long does it take to receive our photos?

I keep turnaround times as quick as possible without compromising quality. However, for every hour I spend photographing, I’ll spend double that editing the images because I want your gallery to truly reflect the emotion, atmosphere, and heart of your wedding day. Therefore, as a guide:

  • Sneak peek (if requested): within 48 hours
  • Full gallery: typically within 2 weeks

Once I am happy that your gallery is cohesive, natural, and true to your day, you will receive your images in a private gallery. Here you can download, share and order prints. I also offer a selection of hand-finished wedding albums, if this is of interest.

Do you only offer set wedding day photography packages?

No. Whilst I have four set wedding day photography packages on offer, they can be tailored to suit your requirements. I am happy to create something bespoke that fits your plans and budget.

Do you travel for weddings?

I do.

Although I am a Hertfordshire wedding photographer, I regularly travel across the UK (and beyond). Wherever your wedding is happening, I’d love to be part of it.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, I have full public liability insurance, and I’m always happy to share this with any wedding venue.

Do you charge any extra fees?

No. The price we agree on is the price you will pay.

Can we meet before booking?

Definitely, and I highly recommend it. Wedding day photography is not just an investment; it is a recording of your special day together. You need to have complete trust in the photographer you choose.

I am happy to meet up. We can have a relaxed chat about your vision (no pressure at all). You can tell me about your plans, ask questions (you’ll be surprised after so many years in the business just how much help I can be), and get a feel for how I work. This can (ideally) be in person or online.

Why is professional Wedding Day Photography important?

After months and months of careful planning, your wedding day will go by incredibly quickly. However, your photos will capture the memories so they are yours to cherish for a lifetime.

Investing in professional wedding day photography means you can be confident that every emotion, every highlight, every moment is captured in a way that feels real and timeless. As an experienced wedding photographer, I know how each day flows, the special nuances to look out for, and how to edit the images so your gallery flows cohesively.

How do we book you?

It’s simple, just get in touch.

Once I know your date and a bit about your plans, we can chat through everything and secure your booking. I’ll guide you through the whole process so it feels easy from start to finish. You can secure your wedding date with a £150 deposit, and the balance is payable one month before your wedding.
